Questions
What counts as the same item?
The same UPC/GTIN barcode, or the same manufacturer model or part number in the same size, color, configuration and quantity. A similar-looking product is never shown as a match.
Where do results come from?
Only from approved sources: retailer product APIs, affiliate-network product catalogs, and direct retailer partners that allow this use. We don't copy content from retailer websites.
Does Deal Scout keep checking after I search?
No. Deal Scout searches when you ask it to. Each result shows when its source last reported the price, and the retailer's price at checkout is the one that counts.
Why do you ask for a model number or UPC?
A link alone often isn't enough to prove two listings are the same item. If you can't give an exact identifier, we save the item as "Needs identifier" and don't guess.
Do I need to connect my Amazon or registry account?
No, and we will never ask for it. You only paste a link and confirm the item details.
Do you use AI to decide matches?
No. Matching follows fixed rules based on identifiers and variant details, so the same item always gets the same answer.
